Who We Are
MDI Community Sailing Center is a non-profit organization working in partnership with Oceanus Institute Inc. and The Southwest Harbor Fleet.
Our mission is to provide access to sailing, and instruction, at an affordable rate to the general public of Mount Desert Island and its coastal neighbors.
Operating out of space at The Southwest Boat Marine Services on Clark Point Road in Southwest Harbor Maine we offer a diverse variety of programs
for novice and experienced sailors alike.
The Sailing Center has sailboats available for members to daysail each year starting May 1st until the end of our "Frostbite" season on January 1st.
Programs during our season include: Summer Junior Program, Womens Sailing Club, Coed Sailing Club, Open Sailing, MDI High School Sailing Team,
Luders 16 series racing and Bullseye Series racing. During the winter months we host speaker presentations and Potluck supper social gatherings.
